WILL THE DUCTWORK BE COATED WITH THE MATERIAL?
  • The Aeroseal process does not coat or line the ductwork, only the leaks.
CAN THE DUCTWORK BE CLEANED AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN SEALED?

Your ducts can be cleaned after Aeroseal application, we recommend not using a scrubbing mechanical method.

DOES THE DUCTWORK NEED TO BE CLEANED BEFORE THE SEALING PROCESS?

Generally no, only very dusty ductwork would need to be cleaned before sealing, the technician on site will advise.

WILL IT HARM MY HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM?
  • We are trained to protect your heating and cooling system.
  • Some items such as humidifiers or UV Lights may have to be temporarily removed to prevent damage.
  • Other items may be taped, covered, or isolated during the sealing process.
WILL IT HARM ELECTRONICS?

Sensitive electronics should be covered during the sealing process for protection.

WHERE DOES THE SEALANT LEAKING FROM THE DUCTS GO?
  • The material escaping from the ducts will settle n your wall cavities, bulk heads and ceilings.
  • During the process fans capture material leaking into the basement area.
HOW ABOUT LEAKS THAT ARE TOO BIG?
  • A broken or disconnected air duct needs to be fixed manually.
  • If a hidden large leak is uncovered during the sealing, the process stops and we discuss a solution.
HOW BIG OF A LEAK CAN BE SEALED?

A 5/8″ hole or gap can be sealed.

WILL MY HOUSE SMELL?

There is a mild odor, Like Elmer’s Glue during the sealing.  The odor is usually gone within a few hours.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO DRY?

Drying time for the material is less then 2 hours.

IS IT SAFE?

The material is non-toxic, click HERE to download the MSDS Sheet.
The main ingredient is used many water-based house-hold products from hair spray to chewing gum.
The material is approved by your city and province or state for use in your home.

HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?

Aeroseal provides a 10-year warranty on the seals created with our process.  We have enormous confidence in the quality of our seals since they are based on Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory research and a patent through the University of California. The EPA has endorsed Aeroseal, as have numerous local energy utilities.
